Toronto Night (Digital Painting) This image is a depiction of the city of Toronto, Canada at night. The challenge here was to keep the city looking lively without losing any detail in the distance. The moonlight backdrop provides a interesting sky above the city below that incorporates the streets lights that navigates the way around the city. My technique for this painting was to maintain a very traditional work flow when creating this. By this I mean picking the right colors, not just sampling them from a picture (Black and White version is also available). Each brush stroke was done with great care and not just patched together from the reference. Basically, it started from scratch as a blank screen and with the same approach that I would take for traditional oil painting. This was an exercise in detail, but really pleased how it turned out.
