Gord Downie Tribute (Oil on canvas 24" X 30") In regards to workload, this image was entirely a labour of love from start to finish. As a fan of The Tragically Hip and frontman Gord Downie, I set out to get every detail I could and transfer it to the canvas in hopes that it shows the raw emotion and one of those precious moments on the final Man Machine Poem tour that most of Canada tuned in for. There were several challenges in this painting that were an exercise in patience. From the intense facial expression, to the fuzzy hat and glittery jacket, each brushstroke was accounted for in paying tribute to Gord's legacy. This painting was a big commitment taking 240 hours from start to finish, but somethings in life are worth the wait. Hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed painting it.
