The Trees (Oil on canvas 24" X 36") This image is a depiction of an area in Muskoka Ontario, Canada. It is the summary of 5 different pictures all in one image. In gathering the reference material for this, I went out on jet-ski early in the morning to get the proper lighting. This small collection of island rocks were very intriguing to me and I found that there was a story being told between the big tree and small tree leaning towards them trying to join in. Out of all the things I saw in such an exciting morning ride, I thought that this was definitely worth painting. The challenge for this painting was capturing the water. It turned out to be an exercise in patience in order to get every ripple in the water. It took many hours (101 hours) but very enjoyable in the end.
